These wraps are known for their versatility and can be customized to provide the right level of compression for individual needs. I offer Bengkung belly binding in my postpartum support services. A big plus is that it can be wrapped to the individual level of compression and comfort. It does, however, take some time and effort to wrap it. For this method, I highly recommend having a postpartum doula or a support person to wrap it for you.</image:title>

Most hospitals give an injection to speed up the process and to prevent bleeding which you can consent to or decline. Most women will feel a few contractions and an urge to push again to birth their placenta. The midwife (and doctor) will assess the placenta to ensure nothing is left inside your uterus. If you want to see your placenta or take it home you can do so.</image:title>

The newborn then will be measured (length and head circumference), weighed and checked. This would also be the time when your midwife gives Vitamin K to your baby as an injection or oral if that is what you choose to do. Your baby will have their first poo (meconium) in the first 24 hours which can be before, during or after birth.</image:title>

      <image:caption>Die ersten Wochen nach der Geburt sind entscheidend für die Mutter genauso wie das Baby. Oft sehe ich, dass Mütter alles für ihr Neugeborenes geben und dabei oft ihr eigenes Wohlbefinden vernachlässigen. Dabei ist es genauso wichtig, dass sich um die Mutter gekümmert wird. Das Wochenbett ist nicht nur eine Zeit für die Mutter ihr Neugeborenes zu versorgen, sondern auch sich auszuruhen, das Stillen zu lernen und ihrem Körper zu erlauben von der Schwangerschaft und Geburt zu heilen und sich zu erholen. Oft leben Familien weit weg und der Partner geht nach kurzer Zeit wieder zurück zur Arbeit. Ich sehe viele Mütter, die sich alleine, überfordert und erschöpft fühlen während sie versuchen eine gute Mutter zu sein. Wochenbettbetreuung ist für jede Mutter und ich bin davon überzeugt, dass sie kein Luxus, sondern eine Notwendigkeit ist. Jede frischgebackene Mutter braucht und verdient es, dass sich um sie gekümmert wird und sie versorgt wird, sodass sie das Beste für ihr Kind geben kann.</image:caption>

Ein andere ist, wenn du dein Neugeborenes zum ersten Mal in deinen Armen hälst. Die Zeit dazwischen kann oft sehr überwältigend und entmutigend sein für Schwangere und ihre Partner. Was kann ich essen und trinken während meiner Schwangerschaft? Was kann ich machen, damit es dem Baby gut geht? Wo soll ich mein Kind zur Welt bringen- im Krankenhaus, Geburtshaus oder zu Hause? Welche Art von Geburt ist die beste für mich und mein Baby und was sind meine Optionen? Ich bin davon überzeugt, dass dein Team zur Vorbereitung auf die Geburt und darüber hinaus entscheidend ist, um sicher zu stellen, dass du die beste Erfahrung von Schwangerschaft bis hin zum Wochenbett hast. Als deine Geburtsdoula bin ich Teil deines Teams. Studien zeigen, dass die kontinuierliche Begleitung durch eine Person, die zur Unterstützung während der Wehen anwesend ist, die Geburtsergebnisse für Mütter und Säuglinge verbessern kann. Das beinhaltet: höhere Rate an spontanen Geburten, kürzere Wehen, geringere Rate an Kaiserschnitten und Vaginal Operativen Geburten (z.B. Saugglocke) geringere Anwendung von Schmerzmitteln und PDA seltener niedrige Apgar-Werte nach 5 Minuten (Punkteschema zur Beurteilung der Gesundheit und des Wohlergehens eines Kindes kurz nach der Geburt) und eine insgesamt größere Zufriedenheit der Mutter mit der Geburt. Meine Leidenschaft als deine Geburtsdoula ist es dir evidenzbasierte Informationen zur Verfügung zu stellen, damit du gute Entscheidungen für dich und dein Baby treffen kannst, und dich während deiner Schwangerschaft, Geburt und im Wochenbett umfassend zu unterstützen.</image:caption>

Die sanften Berührungen einer Massage und andere Arten von Körperarbeit erden, wärmen und sind wohltuend für Körper und Seele. Often, I see mums giving all of themselves for their new baby but neglecting their own well-being even though it is just as critical for them to be mothered! This period postpartum should be a time for every mum to not just provide for but to bond and fall in love with her newborn and a time for her to rest and allow her body to heal and recover from childbirth. With families living far away and their partners returning to work shortly after the birth, I have seen mums feeling alone, overwhelmed and exhausted as they battle with the desire to be a good mum and the guilt of not being able to cope. Postpartum Care is for every mum who wants to be her best self, and I believe this should never be a luxury but a necessity. Every mum needs and deserves to be mothered over this period; nurtured in a non-judgmental way so that the best mum within her will be available for her new baby.</image:caption>
